you can check with amishoutfiitters, they sell them also, pretty sure that's the name.

We're gonna need a bigger boat - Chief Brody

I think you should go with "it's for my wife".......
BUT, it's not a bad idea. I need something for her when we fish Canada or drift/cast here. She uses a spinning rod for both and if she gets a nice fish, she ends up bruising areas that I'd rather not have her bruise! Not sure this item would fix that, but it's worth thinking about.
Thanks for the idea, hoosierdaddy.
Boiler up!

A lot of your trouble has to do with what reels you are using also, you can crank in fish a lot easier on some reels than others. At least you will have a place to put the butt of the rod while you are fighting you reel!!!

Posting pictures, you can look it up on this sight. I wrote out how to do it so it is very easy and helpful.

i dont have a problem with spinning reels with her, it is just those big ole trolling rods. we have those black okuma trolling rods with the okuma line counter reels i got from daves bait (R.I.P) . when that dipsey doesn't pop and i have to bury that rod butt into my schwantz it gets a little sore at the end of the day. and i ain't too ashamed to say so (at least on the internet) and she was tucking the rod butt under her armpit and trying to crank it because it hurt her too bad. which of course loses all your leverage. i'll let you know how it works.

It will work!! I have one on the boat for mostly younger kids to help them hold the rod and have a place to put the butt!! You will love it and wonder what took you so long to buy one!!
