Did anyone go out this morning(Sunday)? Thought it was going to be really rough out so we decided not to go. Just wondering if we screwed up or made a good decision.

Is that all you have to say Dancin Bear!! No fish or should I say steelies!!! 22 miles is steelie country from where I go out at!! I would not run 22 miles in those kind of seas, just not fun at all.

Sorry guys but me and Jesse headed out around 3PM and the lake only had 1 1/2 to 2 footers and by 6PM maybe the same or a little less.
Headed out of hot waters to around the 30-31 line and then straight over towards Avon. Not a lot of boats out today and I found out why, no eyes for use not even 1,2 white bass and one sheep head, man we was marking a ton of fish to.Oh well it was nice to be on the lake.
Talked to 3 boats at the ramp with only 1 boat that caught 6 eyes out at the 35-14 line using worm harnesses, the other 2 boat were all over with no takers.Ran into a stranded boater that couldn't get his boat to start and his marine radio wouldn't work either so we towed him in for 3 miles.

Thanks Mark Butler - ( Let Christ be your light house )

We were out a little over 9 miles (36/13-11). It was windy, but not that ugly. It was a good day for a really fast drift! We got our limits with harnesses, too.

Went out this morning to make up for being a sissy boy yesterday. Pulled 2 limits by 8:00a.m. @ 36/13. Seemed to do better trolling fast...2.0 to 2.4 which I think is fast for crawler harnesses.

Thanks Double Eagle. We hit the 35.5 Sunday around 9:00AM and had our 3 man limit in 1 1/2hrs. We were drifting in 3' to 5' footers with 3oz. bottom bouncers with crawler harness.

Planning to hit the same place tomorrow.

I'm beginning to like the trolling game also but do prefer to drift. There is nothing like feeling the fish strick the lure and then dive straight to China LOL.

yeah, know what you mean.i have been running my downriggers with light action rods, and everyone on the boat keeps a real close eye on those. to be the first on when we get a hit.there is nothing like fighting a walleye on a light action rod goodluck on the upcoming weekend.

I don't run any rods on them, they just get in the way with setting lines!!! Just hook on the ball and run a leader and check it now and then!!

Well we went back out Tuesday, same spot, but no drift, had to cast and only picked up 3 all day.

I just can't get into trolling. I know you can catch more trolling, but it seams to take the fun out of it. Not to mention I can never get things to run right. I admire you guys who go by with 6 to 10 rods out and planners running perfect. If I get 2 rods out with divers I'm good, try 4 and we get a fish on and I leave the wheel to net it and a tangle is sure to happen.

Decided this year I was going to try inline planners, just two. Sent the first one out with a 30 jet and the jet kept pulling it under. Sent the other out with a 3oz inline weight and the board ran fine. When I brang it in there was a big sheaphead on, never pulled the board back or under, yet to 30 jet about sunk it. Just don't get it, so I stick to drifting and casting.

Strange luck, don't give up on the trolling game.I to had all those problems but I just kept asking questions on here every Monday after I messed up on trolling on the weekend. This sight is full of great guys who can troll with the best and will help you out.I to like to drift but when there is no drift these guys have taught me and my son how to troll the right way so it is not a lot of work and hair pulling.Start asking the ????? but start from the beginning like what kind of rods do you use-line and so on.It all matters and makes the difference from netting fish or watching others net and ask some one to let you go trolling with them and see first hand how things work.My first trolling try last year we lost a brand new line counter combo-1 jet-2 dipsies-3 lures-1 rod holder and 10 years off my life. This year from learning it's a completely different story.
