I don't know what the problem is here. I'm wondering if you have your ripsticks mixed up with your deep divers. I also need to know what speed you are running as I have had issues running cranks and divers at higher speeds. As for snap weights if you get a trolling bible it will explain how this is done but you can also experiment. I like to do the ole' trial and error thing. Most of the time my snap weights are placed 20 feet before the lure. Try out the keel weights (in line weights) as well. You can also run ripsticks behind dipseys which worked real well for us earlier in the year.

I think that is wrong!! Rod line goes to the wing end and leader goes to the bottom of the wings and the hole closest to the the start of the wings. Just think of pulling a plane back wards and the leader goes to the front as far as it can. Hard to tell you in words I guess. But I think you just need to put your leader in the other hole and try it!!! If it works I was right!! Good luck!!

never mind rocky i was confused. after reading this like 5 times , i think boat guy has his jet hooked up (rod to jet) right but he is asking double eagle and big kev about which hole the lure leader hooks into for the crank bait? is that right?

You are correct there hoosier.... i basicly have them the exact way i do when pulling spoons. no changes whatsoever. Hey big kev, our speed was probably around 1.8-2 if i had to guess...ill try to remember to check that next time

I don't know why they wouldn't run right then. How long are you leaders? I run anywhere from 4-6 ft leaders off my jets. I actually like to pull stickbaits off my dipseys thought more so than jets. I think they ride a little smoother in the water but I do run them off jets at times. We sometimes use a three way swivel and put the jet below the bait to get it down also. If you do some research online you can find a diagram I'm sure. We've been doing better on deep divers and snap weights lately though.

I was wrong!!! Not usually !!! Just brain fade!!

Here is a brand new one!!!

Here is one of my older ones that I painted !!

Check out the holes, how I beveled the hole so the snap doesn't hit sharp edges and works smother !!!

Here is an other hole shot !!!

Hope this settles the question..
