Ohio Game Fishing (OGF) is proud to announce the details for the 2008 Vermilion Hawgfest to be held on Saturday September 20th in the great city of Vermilion.The 2008 Hawgfest is brought to you by The City Of Vermilion, Evinrude,Sharpnack II Chevrolet,South Shore Marine,Starcraft and WKYC TV-3.
This is the fifth annual event and all indications are that the 105 boat field will be filled quickly,so don't delay your registration.
Kim Endsley will once again be serving as our tournament director.Kim brings tons of Hawgfest experience to this event.and we are proud to have him on our staff.
The Hawgfest has quickly become the premier open Walleye tournament on Lake Erie.
This is such a unique event in that it is open to any size team from 2 to 6 people.There is also a reduced entry fee for the 2 person teams.
We wrap up and highlight this event with a catered dinner, awards ceremony and party held after the weigh in.The top finishing teams will receive their awards and share how they caught their winning catch. The awards dinner is also open for friends and family that don't fish the tournament.
For the anglers, the day will start early, with boat inspection at the Red Clay restaurant on the Vermilion River. At inspection the teams will find donuts provided by West Marine to get their morning off to a good start.For those that want to donate their catch,2nd Harvest Food Bank from Lorain Ohio will accept donations.
With over 100 boats there will be three flights for the tournament. Starting positions will be determined by the order of receipt of regsitration payment.
After the fish have all been weighed the festivities will move to the VOL( Vermilion On The Lake Club) for the dinner and awards ceremony. The dinner will be catered by Ray Sterk Catering.His food is legendary! There will be raffles and door prizes of some great merchandise throughout the awards ceremony.
We will also be raffling some great charter trips!
