My son had a very bad car accident this week. Rolled his Jeep Wrangler and hit a tree. Took us 1-1/2 hours to cut him out. Leg was smashed between the console and floor board. He was hanging half way out of the the Jeep which was competely demolished. When I got there he didn't have any visible signs of injury which made me believe that he had to have internal. Jeep was far to mangled for him not to be hurt. Bent the frame like a pretzel. I knew at the very least his leg that was pinned and couldn't be seen from the thigh down, had to be shattered or cut off. Everytime we lifted the console with the jaws, he would wrap his arms around my neck and scream bloody murder. Begging me to help him! I knew at the very least I had to prepare him for what was going to a very long recovery if not a prosthetic. When the paramedics arrived I told them to have the morphine ready. He was conscious the whole time but gradually could not remember anything for longer then seconds (which was a blessing but also very scary) Also meant he couldn't be given morphine! He would ask what happened and where he was and 5 seconds later ask again. Of course being his Dad, all the worse case scenarios I can imagine are going through my head at this point. I finally told the firemen "We need to get this boy out and I mean now"! I didn't know if he wasn't bleeding to death under that console or if he didn't have internal bleeding. They were preparing to have a doctor come to the scence when we finally got him free. To absolutley everyones amazement his leg wasn't even broke!!! They take him to the hospital and do x-rays and a cat scan and there was NOTHING wrong with him other them minor bumps, bruises and cuts!! Grab your kid right now and thank God - I know I have!! And if you would, help me thank God for watching out for my boy too!!

God really watched out over him. I can't imagine being a dad and having to be there to see my son in that much pain not knowing if he was hurt or not. Wow Life is precious and short. I hope that through this YOu will draw closer to God and thank him for all the blessings he has given you.
