Hit a small trib on the east side of V town today with Layin' Hard Wood and dispite the cold we had a decent day. Landing 8 of 12 fish we hooked up on. Sorry I didn't take many pics but it was so cold I didnt' want the fish to die by being out of the water for too long and their gills freezing. All fish came on spawn. Chart. and Red seemed to be the best colors today. Enjoy the pics!!! Later dudes.
Hey bigkev I have a question for you --is there anything special that you do in very dirty water another words do you fish different in "good" water then in dirty..??
The only thing I might do a little different in muddy water and I'm talking really muddy water is I tie larger spawn sacks. I'm talkin' some real bombs man....fifty cent piece size even. Bigger target for the fish to key on. Doesn't always work but seems to help in most cases. Also fish the slack water when the river is up a little higher than normal. Hope this helps.
thanks Big - if I use bigger sacks does that mean I should use bigger hooks also to support the weight or what size hook for the 50 cenner if you dont mind me asking.?
Well thats what this site is all about. I had a lot of guys help me when I was starting out. A lot of it is trial and error though. Finding your own way and techniques is very rewarding. Don't be afraid to experiment. Just because something I do catches fish doesn't mean something done the way you like to do it won't. A lot of fisherman get caught up in doing things the same as everyone else. You'd be surprised how many fish you will catch by trying new baits and different techniques. I don't mind sharing my knowledge at all as long as its not tournament time. LOL. I hope that what I share helps guys have the same kind of fun that I have while I'm on the water. I work very hard at being a good fisherman. But I know that I don't know everything and someone will teach me something somewhere down the road. You can never learn enough. Good luck and pray for some open water. Later dude.
