I have a 30 year old alumnum boat and a few of the rivets seep water. I hate to pay out the money they want for marine bottom paint. I don't get to go out very often, and the boat is stored on the trailer. Could i use a good oil based enamel to paint the bottom? really not sure how much longer that old thing is going to be around.lol

I don't think there is any cheap way to go. Aluminum boat you would have to have aluminum paint. I don't think the regular house paint would hold very long. Try some silcon sealant around the rivets. Or they have an aluminum repair in a stick like a putty stick. Also there was a guy at the sportshow last year that had a repair stick. Don't remember exactly what it was, but he was putting all kinds of stuff together with it and said it was good for leaky rivets.
