Today my bud and I trekked out to the V but we had no luck due to the slushy snow/ice that was floating down the river. We tried adding some more weight to the line but it was still tough getting a decent drift in. Anyone else have this problem or were you all smart enough to say in?
Wish I could help you folks but regretfully I can't. If BigKev gets on here he certainly can! Fishes that area daily and absolutley slays the fish! Welcome to the site though!
I had the problem of things freezing up as well. Unless I am missing something, I really do think today was just one of those days that you just couldn't fish. The floating snow never seemed to let up, and I am wondering whether or not it's even going to be any better tomorrow.
Anyone got any tips or suggestions in how to fish in such conditions?
I've got a tip.....Stay home. LOL. I fished today and we encountered the same problem only the slush got worse and worse as the day went on. Landed one fish early before the slush made it darn near impossible to fish. Just gotta cast to the open holes in between the slush is all I can tell ya. Makes it hard for even the most experienced anglers down there. As for the ice up on your rod tips and such there are products that they sell that you can apply to your eyelets but when its 10 degrees out it doesn't make that big of a difference. Just gotta wait for warmer weather. Gotta love steelie fishing. Take it easy guys and pray for warmer weather. Later dudes.
