Just thought I would let you know how I did:
Just got home, if I would have read this yesterday I would have PM you. I went for the steels with no luck. Right when I got there one guy caught a one between 15"-20". No luck for anyone that I saw there and there were a lot of people. 5-6 at the 2nd ford, 7-9 at the first. The second ford is where the fish was caught. It is clear enough but still kinda muddy, pretty high.
Went to Cascade after the Rock around 1:00 and fished for an hour. It is really muddy but pretty high. Only one other fisherman showed up when I was leaving.
Right when I arrived (7 or 8:00) saw 4 decent bucks and a doe under the first bridge. Too bad it wasn't gun season and not a park!

Cascade is a park in Elyria where the black river runs through. A very long time ago they use to have bears in caves, some people remember that. It's close to Midway Mall if you follow West River Rd. south past St. Rt. 113 and turn the first drive to the left, you can't miss it.
Yesterday, I went to a small stream by my friends house and hooked onto a few. Landed 1 of 3, it was around 2 1/2'. It was nice, since I'm a newbie, to go in a small stream to learn how the adjust the rig, read the river, learn the bober, ect. Hopefully, I can use these techniques in a bigger river like the Rocky. |

Its all relative John. Just have to scale everything up a bit. Length under your bobber mainly. But same concepts. Glad to hear you hooked a few. Nice work.

| I remember them bears at Cascade Park like it was yesterday!!!!! We use to hang out there all day throwing marshmallows at them and playing hacky-sack. I did feel bad for them because they really didn't have any shelter to speak of. I had no idea there was steelies there? I didn't think anything could live in the black river. |

Yea, there in there! I didn't say I would eat em or that they are healthy but you can catch em. By the mouth of the river in Lorain they were hitting real good earlier in the season but?? It makes me think how good those Walleye taste right where it lets out by the rocks in Lorain?
I didn't mean to scare all of you before you eat your eye's for supper! LOL |
