I've trolled res and what worked for me was using an electric trolling motor vs gas. Usually making very sure that lure was on or just off bottom and going very slow. I've used worm harnesses and swim tail jigs. Have not tried lures like reef runners, doubt if they would work but don't know cause I haven't tried. Finding sand or rock bottoms also. PM me if you would like more info.

Will NOT fish for food !!

Hey Nate,
Reef runners DO work in resiviors. I've trolled them at New London and had some success. Spoons also work but we us bottom bouncers to get them down to the fish. Finding all the structure in a resivior will help your trolling ten fold. Try trolling breaklines and the outside edges of reefs. Try scaling down your baits as well and using florocarbon line. Electric trolling motors are a must. Try your planer boards (in lines) on the resiviors as well. Hope this helps.
