I personally don't think it has anything to do with competition between the 2 groups, why would it? I also think that any help that Marc can offer would be a good thing, and will not understand if anyone else feels different.
I'm a Clevelander who fishes Vermillion, it makes sense to me to be part of a club that is located in that area, but certainly don't want to limit myself to one area when so much more is accessible. I like to catch Walleye and getting quite good at it. Thanks to all.......
I'll likely end up in both groups as well. Marc, I believe the WBSA dues are not pro-rated, so I was gonna wait until these dues are due for the following year, which is either February or March.
Looking forward to both.
Thanks, dave |

| harle96, Thank you for your reply. I didn't so much as mean competition in the form that it was taken, as to meaning that there is room for more clubs to be available. As I explained to Mark I don't always say what I mean to, and that it was me talking not someone else. I'm not implying that we want to steal members from other clubs. As I stated I belong to different clubs. Each has it's own venue. Hope I stated this correct. Also I can learn from each. I also don't feel that this club be considered a Walleye Club, or a Lake Erie Club. As we would like to included members that fish for different species and other areas. I have also received a lot of info and help from Mark Hudson and wish to thank him for it. I also edited my previous post as I did not mean competition and I do not want to start a controversy over this. |

Yeap, there is always room for more and I know Marc would be a great help because I have heard great things about this man that I have only seen at the hawg fest.May be one day both clubs could hold an event together, rely on each other for help and so on.I'm into hunting and guns also, there are thousands of gun/hunting clubs out there that in the end support and help each other for the common goal of the sport just like all the fishing clubs will do. Thank you Marc for your input and help to this sight and for being honest. There will be no competition between this club and any other in my opinion because that would hurt the common goal of the sport. Bob this club will be cool because it will include any kind of fishing. |

Interesting how comments on here get twisted and turned around and then someone thinks a post means something different than it really does. I think one of our first purchases for the club though should be a scale. LOL. Then we will have our own and not have to borrow one. Can't wait to see you all at the meeting. Looking forward to being a part of this. See you dudes soon.

OMGooooosh! NOT IN COMPETITION WITH ANY OTHER CLUB. WHY WOULD WE BE? ANOTHER THAT PROMOTES ANGLING!
Mark Butler aka BigTman's idea is where I want to go, we can expand with brainstorming. GIVING....MAYBE PROFIT,,, OUR CLUB SHOULD PROMOTE OTHER FISHING CLUBS ETC.
WBSA HAS BEEN SUPPORTFUL OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE NO INTENT OF TAKING AWAY AND I DON'T BELIEVE ANOTHER INVOLVED DOES EITHER.
I HAVE TO SAY, BOB REALLY TOOK THE BULL BY THE HORNS TO GET THINGS ROLLING...THANKS BOB. I HAVE BEEN SICK FOR OVER 2 WEEKS WITH ZERO MOTIVATION. THANKS BOB! DAVE
EZMARC,,,DID YA REALLY NEED TO GO OFF ON DAVE'S BAIT? THIS CLUB THAT I ASKED IN THE ORIGINAL POST MADE NO MENTION OF DAVE'S BEING THE PRESIDENT, OWNER OF THIS CLUB. JUST WANT TO HELP ANGLERS/KIDS,,PERIOD. GEEZ! |

I obviously said more than I should have in response to something that isn't even there any longer.
Good luck with your club, you have some very good and interesting people wanting to get involved and it should go well with a little effort and perserverence. |

Wow guys. Didn't mean to start any issues. I was gone for a few days and just got back to a computer. It appears there was some post deleted or edited so not exactly sure what went on? I wish everything was left intack so it made more sense to read but too late now.
So it sounds like bait Dave has been using the wbsa equipment and stuff for his tourney's? I didn't know that. Not sure why then Dave came back with a CAPS yelling reply at Mark? doesn't really make sense but maybe I'll learn more at the meeting tomorrow if I can get a pass from the guard(my old lady). Seems there are some issues but if everything seems on the up and up once I hear more i might be interested in holding some type of position.
Bob got your pm and replied.
Hope to see you all tomorrow night.

Yeah Bob, it is easier to explain it that way but in reality the area from Sandusky to the sand bar is called Sandusky Basin or more popularly the Bowl and is shown by the NOAA as part of the Western basin and that is how we look at it as well. Heres a Bathymetry picture of it:
Here's a link to the NOAA site that shows it. http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/greatlakes/lakeerie_cdrom/html/e_gmorph.htm#a789
It's a matter of semantics and confuses things a little. Fred Snyder asked me the same thing once but in my mind the NOAA is a higher authority than ODNR unless I'm fishing with too many rods or over limit.
Good luck with your organizational meeting tomorrow. I'm probably not welcome here anymore but if there are ????'s just ask. |

Well Mark it looks good but is also confusing. If you look at the Central Basin Map it goes W to the 82degrees30" line which includes part of the Sandusky Bowl. I think it puts everything from Cranberry Creek east in the Central Basin. It also shows on the map that the Western Basin extends E to the 82 degrees 20" line which puts it to Vermilion. But since Ohio controls the shore line I have to side with the ODNR. I also found this on the page you reference:
SANDUSKY BASIN West of the Pelee-Lorain Ridge, the shallow, 12-14 meter deep Sandusky Basin, slopes gently downslope from west to east, and has local relief of 1-2 meters. Topographically it resembles a fan and it may have been the site of a shallow lake and/or marsh, and/or delta during early and middle Lake Erie time. In terms of basin configuration and continuity of the bounding walls, the Sandusky Basin appears as an integral part of the Central Erie Basin, except for the interposition of the Pelee-Lorain Ridge. Formation of the Pelee-Lorain Ridge may therefore have been the event which separated the Sandusky Basin from the Central Erie Basin.
Any way to my knowledge and as far as I'm concerned, you are always welcome on here. |

| Hey Marc don't you go any where man,I like many others learn a lot from the friendly discussion on here, just like learning about these basins. It has made me think about it and I like others can see both sides and there is nothing wrong with these kinds of topics because learning and making one think and then that person can make his own mind up-what a great place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I agree with Mark and Bob 100%. There is no reason why we cannot share ideas and differences of opinion on this site. It doesn't violate any of Daves'site rules and, as long as it isn't personal/aggressive/vulgar/idiotic we can all learn from what is being discussed. I came here looking for a site that doesn't condemn members for what they do/know/think, like a very well known site around this area does, and that also doesn't allow anyone to be flamed or embarassed. I've sent others to this site and look forward to being a member of whatever fishing organization comes out of the meetings because I believe that people on here care about one another and are the most helpful of any group around these parts.

Central, Western or sandusky, not sure it matters that much at the end of the day. What ever you want to classify it as the wbsa has a tournament in Geneva so I would say they cover all the waters of lake erie.
Well since I am not at the meeting and am on here posting i didn't get my pass from the ball and chain. Something about me being gone too much recently. Oh well, I'm sure there were a bunch of people there. What are the details from the meeting? How many people, dues, shares, officers, organizational structure and all other important info?
Was Dave there? Just wondering if he was OK since he hadn't posted anything here for a few days, since he had been sick and all.
Hope things went good and lets hear detials PLEASE.
