Anyone think this is a good idea?

Monthly meetings with guest educators/speakers?

Annual dues? Where would the money go?
To form an LLC. Distribute the shares to the membership on an excisise option basis.

Start with 10,000 shares? LLC would protect the club and could eventually profit.

Funds would be used to grow our education, tournaments, parties, help members in need, build a website and help our future anglers etc. ALL types of anglers are wanted! Bass, Walleye, Perch, Steelies.

We would need to vote in a President, Vice, Secretary and Treasurer.

How about a name for the club? Ohio Anglers Society?

INPUT,INPUT,,,,AND MORE,.,,SPEAK UP ....PLEASE.
I really think with the guys/gals on here and what I have seen over the years on this message board... we have the people. We need to organize.

I absolutely agree with you Dave. There are alot of tangible fiscial opportunites here that are not being explored or developed. It would be a shame not to use these resources to further what is already a great community. I would imagine there is even government funds available if certain causes are addressed. I would certainly be willing to procure shares in this type of venture. We could even do some charity events to benefit whatever causes we felt strongly about. I'm in !!!

I just want a sticker (really big) for my silverado rear window, gotz to be bigger and cooler than the Team OGF sticker i've seen too, lol. Other than that, i'm in total agreement, i think there's already the perfect foundation of people here for such a thing, and would be honored to be an official part of them.

Count me and my family in! Great idea! I hope such a club would include kids too. After all they are the very foundation for great fishing for years to come. An LLC would offer such an entity the most protection with keeping it simple. A reputable legal firm should charge around $1200 to $2000 to file the proper paper work and get it filed in the county record office. Would the club promote statewide fishing or primarily the vermilion area of lake erie and river system? Curious to see everyone else's responses.

As far as forming an LLC goes, it can be done by a lawyer for around $400, i knew someone when i formed an LLC for my computer business, and i believe my brother did it himself much cheaper than that, i can get the info when so desired.

Over to biz.....
I really think this is a neat idea and many anglers would benefit from this.
I have no desire to be anything but a web builder, and help as much as I can with the club.

WE ARE GOING TO NEED A PRESIDENT, TREASURER, ETC. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS? Nominees?
ANNUAL DUES,,,HOW MUCH? 25.00 , 50.00, 75.00?

I know there are many unselfish guys on here, I have seen it, read it.I need more input.
I plan on keeping tournaments between the club next year. Hopefully we will have some children involved.
Meetings don't just have to be held in Vermilion. We can meet all over the state.

This club should want to help their own along with bringing kids in to the picture. The kids don't need to be just low income,,any walk of life would be great.

Huge potential here, let's move on this. Get some folks steedheading etc.

ALL TACKLE WILL BE SOLD CHEAP TO THE CLUB, THIS WILL HELP GET TACKLE IN TO YOUR HANDS AT A REASONABLE PRICE.
Any ideas?

Sorry Bob. I've been working a lot and had some other things going on in my life. With the weather being the way its been I haven't been fishing as much as I would have liked too. Been workin some crap hours....2am-2pm and just not feeling up to it...as weird as that sounds for me. I'm off tomorrow and gonna hit the steelies. I'll let ya know what I come up with. This sounds like a good idea. I'm in.. Let me know when you nail something down Dave. I should be fishing a little more here soon fellas and reporting on here more often. Work is slowing down a bit. I love this rain!!!!!!!!!

there are alot of good things can come out of clubs and all of its resources . kids fishing Derby's , fishing tourneys ,, guest speakers to help teach us etc .. I'm all about helping others in anyway i can and believe in passing knowledge to those who seek it .. i will say by keeping the dues on the lower end brings more people to join in on the fun and to have more volunteers for hosting events for communities and there families to get involved .. i personally get a couple of events together for MDA,, youth challenge ,, and fishing days for our veterans and can only speak from heart anytime you can get someone involved with the outdoors and environment it can only be postive for everyone ... there is my 2 cents worth,, Wake

My 2 cents.
1.-pick a name and make logo for stickers, shirts and hats
2.-20.to join-20. annual dues
3.meeting place-start with Dave's shop then see where every one is from and kinda make it in the middle.1 meeting a month in fishing season and winter months maybe every other month unless we must plan for a up and coming event.

Dave-you need to make a thread link or a voting link of sorts to pick a club name and logo first.People who want to be an officer can put there name in it to be voted for so we can pick officers and start collecting $ to get the ball rolling..
CENTRAL OHIO FISHING CLUB
VERMILION WALLEYE WHACKERS
TRIPLE F-FISHING,FRIENDS AND FUN
Let's get started Dave.I don't want to be Pres or deal with the money but any thing else I'll do.Let's get started so this is on it's way be fishing season next year.

With current work/school loads, I will not be of much help until late spring, but I am already trying to set join/dues money for this, and will help in any way that I can. I belive that will be an awsome group of people to be associated with.

another idea or 2...
4FNCO - Fishing, Family, Friends, Fun of North Central Ohio
OFF - Ohio's Friendly Fishermen
FishONS - Fishing Ohio's North Shores

Would anyone object to the club having a chaplain???? Possibly Preacherman as a nominee???

Do they make a Kielbasa colored Reef Runner??? Husky Jerk????

stoshu I like that name OFF Ohio friendly fishermen,it is very catchy and as far as a preacher that could help us with blessing tournaments and having some one to turn to that has professional knowledge and guidance would be just fine with me.
