Since we are new to the whole West-of Cleveland fishing areas thingy, can anyone recommend areas on the Rocky River and Vermillion River where we can try for steelies/whatever w/o wading or needing to ask permission to trespass? I really hate what happened to the once public areas on the Chagrin River and with the collapse of the dam at Daniels Park a few years back we're sorta out of the loop when it comes to what's available now that we are concentrating Westerly. Going up to Beaver today to wash and close the boat for the winter so we would like to try some bank fishing tomorrow.
If you get on the ODNR web site it gives you maps of the Rocky and Vermilion Rivers public access points. Check em out. There are plenty of areas on there where u can fish from shore. Good luck. Steelies aren't in thick yet but once we get some rain it will be on!!!!!! You can try casting spoons and spinners around the mouths of these rivers as well. Steelies are staging to come into the rivers right now and you can take them that way. Give it a shot.
