Morpheus, just curious - did you just purchase that boat. The reason I ask is because I was just looking at one of those for sale in the Lexington area. Seems like a fairly unique boat, so was just wondering.

The purest form of honesty is true sincerity - so if you can fake that!

Morpheus,
I had the same problem with my 40hp outboard. In my case, the neutral switch is in the shifter mechanism. Can’t get to it. Don’t think of it as a neutral switch, but as a not-in-gear switch that connects to the starter. I wired another switch in parallel under the dash for just-in-case, but it turned out that the switch didn’t engage because I didn’t get it out of gear smoothly. Try jiggling the shifter out of gear cleanly. Worked for me.

I also use my kicker motor for double duty. Before I bought my new motor I came in twice on it. The first two years on Lake Erie I didn't have a kicker so i did have insurance. I don't have insurance now and the money I have saved by not getting it would pay for a tow plus.

Well ALRIGHT! I love it when it's something simple, and even better when it's cheap!
