I can say spring fishing for crappies out of Bellevue #5 was excellent with some very large fish! Have gotten 3 13"ers' and one that almost went 14". All the bigger fish were blacks. Try throwing some cranks... Jointed shad-raps have worked the best for me trolling from my kayak. Best time is between 7:30 and sunset.
Attica res has also been filling my freezer. They are mostly smaller, 10" was my biggest from there, but you can fill a stringer in an hour. They are still holding shallow on the banks for the most part and you can pretty much catch them all day long.
Anyone else have reports, would love to hear them to give some other places a try.

I fished the Wellington for Crappies this spring and caught a couple of messes from the bank. Been fishing bluegills at wellington and at Findlay again from shore have caught some nice fish but had to weed your way through a lot of smaller fish.
Thanks for the reply! Wellington would be a pretty far run for me, but have been thinking of camping with the family at Findley State Park and doesn't look too far from there. The kids do love them bluegills. Thanks!
Oh yeah, forgot to mention my big fish I caught from Bellevue #5 earlier this spring trolling for crappie with a husky jerk..... a 24" walleye!!! I've got a pict but not sure how to get it up here. Good fishin' to ya and stay safe!
