Guys I need a little help. My brother-in-law ripped one of the Trim tabs off the boat last year. It was during that low water period last year at the end of the season. I was wondering if anybody knew of a good boat junk yard that might have a set. Or anyone that had a set for reasonable money.

How do you rip off a tab w/ no other damage, to outdrive, shaft, prop, or whatever propels the boat? Your best bet is probably going to be ebay. If the tab is just bent, it can be hammered out flat. Good luck...and remember, "boat" and "reasonable money" don't belong in the same paragraph....

You could check some of the local marinas that service boats. They may have some from a parted out boat...In Vermilion, best bet would be Key Harbor, or Valley Harbor.

Thanks Bolier. I don't know how he did it. I wasn't on that trip. The only thing I can thank of is he had it all the way down and the motor trimmed up. He said he hit the end of the ramp at Hotwaters. He ripped the plate off and and broke the piston off and the bracket.
