Posted - 07/07/2008 : 07:29:16 Fri, Sat and Sunday. Friday we hit the 31-17 and pulled a mixture of spoons and harnesses and could only manage 9 before the wind got pretty wicked. Saturday we fished the 27.5-21 area and managed a three man limit before 1 pm. Once again a mixture of spoons and harnesses with Orange being the color of choice. Sunday we needed the help of ol' Rocky and Harle. They put us on a nice line just north of the V and we hit em hear and there in the morning before they shut down and we needed to head north to pick up the last 5 or so. Took a three man limit though. Kevorkian spoon 55 back on a big dipsey on a 1 setting did the damage(thanks Harle). |

Posted - 07/08/2008 : 22:37:05 We fished the same days, Friday was tough with the waves kicking up pretty good in the afternoon. We managed to get 14 on Friday, 320 out of Lorain about 4.5 miles. Most came on big dipsys, 3 setting, 125 - 130 back, basically scraping them off the bottom in 45 FOW. Chicken wing stingers, silver with blue tape mag NK's, a couple on X raps and reef runners with blue, green, and orange. Saturday was a little better, had six people on the boat, managed to get 17 on the same program as Friday. Had to weed through tons of sheep & white bass to get to the walleye, busy day. Sunday was a great day on the water. We only had four on the boat, didn't get on the lake until 8 and picked up 24 by 3:00. For every walleye, we caught at least 5 white bass & sheephead. Most of the day was like a fire fight, non stop action, couldn't keep the rods in the water. Most walleyes came off the boards, jet 40's, 150 back, chicken wing, gold & orange, & clark kent stingers, Rapala X-raps, blue with orange belly, black and gold shad raps. Picked up some on big dipsy's, 3 setting 125 back, 2 setting 100 back. Fished the same area all days, best speed was 2.2 - 2.4 when we could keep it there, Friday was tough to keep the speed right. Most fish were in the 2.5 - 5 pound size, with a couple fish Ohio, 29 inches, 9#'s. Sunday the lake and weather were beautiful, nicest day on the lake this year for us. |
