Posted - 05/18/2008 : 19:26:07 Sorry this was so late fellas but I've been really busy. Hit the water on friday night with a few newbies from the Ashland area. They hadn't ever done or caught walleye after dark like they were about to. My buddy made the mistake of guarenteeing them two tickets(or so I thought it was a mistake). We proceeded to boat a two man ticket rather quickly. Confusion, clown and wonderbread ripsticks worked best for us 25-30 back in 6-12 FOW from the west end of sherod park all the way back to the breakwall. We had the possiblility of our tournament on Saturday so we only kept enough for the two from ashland, didn't want to cut into Walleye1kinobie and my limits for sat. All together we boated between 35-40 eyes. Nothing real big 4-5 lbs being the largest but it was a blast. Heard of some reports of some big ones being caught out in 25-30 fow from the guys who were out after dark. 1.2-1.7 mph was our speed. The wind made it tough to keep a constant but didn't seem to matter. Hope this helps you night biters out there. Later dudes.

Posted - 05/20/2008 : 18:52:49 Nice job, Big Kev! In line boards or flat lines or both? Seems like the day bite should be on, if the lake would cooperate. Saturday's forecast is pretty nice, so I think we'll head out during the day and try the casting program if we can locate some fish trolling first. A buddy of mine caught a huge 'eye off the beach a couple days ago. But it's been more "miss" than "hit", especially with the rough lake. Best of luck! ErieBoy75 |
