well i decided to see if i could catch or see any steelhead in the river the other day.no luck for steelies but i did manage to catch 4 smallmouth 1 whitebass and 1 carp.the carp are in there pretty good.I saw two gar in the water when i was walking out.Havent seen any of those in a while.here are a couple of pics of the smallie.all fish were caught on a small 1/32 oz. white hair jig.Oh yah be careful the slate river bottom is very slippery.I fished all day only to fall in the water when i was walking out.glad nobody saw that.

its at coho dam or what used to be coho dam.they took the dam out a few years ago.you used to be able to drive back to the dam area but now they have it chained off so you have to walk.take 113 west of 250 and turn on lovers lane.park by the bridge.here is a link to a map http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/Home/wild_resourcessubhomepage/WildlifeAreaMapsLandingPage/NorthwestOhioWildlifeAreaMaps/MilanWildlifeArea/tabid/20011/Default.aspx

Where on the Huron is that????? Is it public access? I've been looking for somewhere to get to the river.
