Posted - 10/31/2007 : 16:48:30 I took a walk with the dog down by the mouth of the river waiting for the fish cleaning house to open at noon. That barge thing was still tied up in front of that house. After looking at it a little better I think it has to do with some of the construction going on at that place. I wounder what they are making now? Bomb/Nuke shelter? Under ground tunnel to Canada? Their own Tomb? Thats allot of heavy equipment there. |

Posted - 10/31/2007 : 09:08:51 Thanks Dave for posting!! I didn't get a sec last night. I forgot my camera also and I took the fish to get cleaned so didn't get any pics.:(
I went out the last minute yesterday afternoon. Fished right of the break wall in 28-29fow. I couldn't get a bite for the first half hour. I think it was because of the chop/wind and my perch rig wasn't holding still? I added a 2oz weight on it and that did the trick!! For the next 2 1/2hours it was a pretty good bite. I stopped at 26 perch for 9.86 uncleaned pounds. The water clarity was pretty good. About 2-3ft visibility.
OH!! I almost forgot!! I cought a smallmouth while parching also out there!! I added one of them perch jigs that Ol'Pete has and put out a minnie on another pole. I dropped it to the bottom and realed up about a foot or so off the bottom. Not 1 second later the pole was about jerked out of the holder!! Nice little smallmouth!! About 1-2lb. I tried to put the jig back out but the current keep making it drift around the motor so I pulled it.
When I was heading out they were bringing in a barge with a dredge machine. They were right on the inside of the break wall. When I came in they were tied up at the last house on the East side of the river where they been doing all that remolding. The river is WAY DOWN!! About 1 1/2ft!! My alarm was going off all the way down the river. In front of Red Clay I was reading only 7ft and some spots only 4ft!! |
