Posted - 04/02/2007 : 20:17:31 Sorry to report Dave that things were not hot for us nor did we see it hot for anyone else for that matter.( Unless you call seeing two fish HOT ) Fished at Mill Hollow with Charleez, Wake-n-walleye and ChefBuck79. Waken had a couple on but none landed before he got called to work. Charleez caught one early this morning and had one on for a short time at Mill. Waken showed Chef and I a few things and gave us a nice selection of flies that he had tied. There is a lot to be learned from this man ( Wake-n-Walley ) he knows it well, I stay close hoping some will rub off sometime. We ended the day at Schoepfle Gardens with no luck nor did we really see very many fish. It seems to be a strange year so far says Charleez. Last year they were thick and you seen a ton of fish this year it's just not the case so far. We are hoping things will improve very soon !!!!!!!!!! All in all it was a very enjoyable day with some great friends!!!
Here is ChefBuck getting some pointers from Wake-N-Walleye

Posted - 04/03/2007 : 17:49:59 Don't give up hope Chef...I'm in the same boat (or on the same bank...) as you. I've been trying since last fall to land my first. Unfortunately, time is a factor for me also. I'll just keep plugging away, as I know my day will come. And, when it does.... you'll see my picture on "Dave's Wall of Fame". (It took me 2 years of fishing off the piers to catch my first pier 'eye & it was a doozie... 31" 11.5 lbs...so I'm hoping for the same with my first steelie...)
See, your not the only one on the site who hasn't landed one yet..... |

Posted - 04/03/2007 : 10:20:42 im starting to loose hope for landing one of these bullets before they make their way back into the lake. wish i lived on the river so i could go out everytime i have free time. i guess i just havent payed my dues yet. need to put in some more hours before im rewarded with a nice steelie. maybe i can talk the ol man into gettin me a fly rod setup for my birthday. that will give me sumthin to practice all summer long and be ready for the fall. thanks again george for taking the time to help me out it means alot. its not always about catching fish eigther its about who your fishing with... and fish or no fish i had a good time. |

Posted - 04/03/2007 : 07:24:26 Very nice pics Rod, thanks for posting them.
Ysterday morning I reported that the fellas picked them up in the holes, with only one coming out of the rapids. Is it safe to say they are back in the pools? |
