Posted - 03/24/2008 : 20:35:01 Nice steelhead! Be nice if there were some pier heads on Erie like the s. peir head in Muskegon. I usually check the muskegon web cam out daily and can always tell when the steelhead are biting there by the amount of fishermen you can see standing out there! Nice pictures! |

Posted - 03/24/2008 : 19:38:10 Sadly I dont get to go every week but it sure is a nice place to fish. I will be making just one more trip this year and then I will be waiting for the river too. Maybe I will get a chance to spend a bit more time on the V befor I put the boat in. I fished it once this spring and I sure did take a likin to it. Keep your lines wet and drag sceamin! Til next time..... Steeleypeeler. |

Posted - 03/23/2008 : 19:29:04 This is my first season fishing the V. I think that it a beautiful river with tons of potential. It reminds me of the Little Manistee. Well when mother nature dosent play fair I go where the fish are. [/ img] 12 pounds 31 1/2 inches woohoooo! One of many monsters taken this weekend. I love steelheadin! |

Posted - 03/20/2008 : 11:22:44 I hear ya about the river rising on days you have off man. That sucks. There is still plenty of time this season and hopefully it will stop raining. Good luck. |

Posted - 03/20/2008 : 10:04:30 I float, jigs/spawn going to try minnows also. It’s an hour and a half drive for me and when I can get out of work/school seems like the river is screwed! If I could fish it 4 days a week I would hehe. First 3 trips early in the season ive gotten fish and then everytime I got a free day the river would start rising due to our lake effects weather, snow melt=screwed river for a week or cold snap=frozen. I am not complaining, and I still have tons to learn I don’t know what the hell I am doing wrong because some of the guys including you seem to kill them on some days! I had a buddy who fishes for steelies in Oregon remark that he doesn’t know how the hell we have patience with Ohio weather, as their rivers are fishable 6 days out of the week, any time of year. I hope I can have a double digit day this season still. |

Posted - 03/19/2008 : 20:47:13 Steel, Its funny you say that cause I thought this season has been fantastic compaired to the last couple of years. Lot more fish this season and perfect conditions up until the last month or so. Lots of big fish this season as well. Are you a fly fisherman or a float fisherman? If you chuck spawn then this has been a great year compaired to the last couple.

Posted - 03/19/2008 : 20:29:55 The whole season so far has been ok at best, lets hope better days are ahead. Ive fished the V 7 or 8 times and a few days have been great (many fish) but most have been high and muddy. I fish rocky and eastern spots a lot more as they clear 10x faster than the v. |
