Posted - 07/13/2008 : 17:45:43 Congrats on your victory, Mark. It must be fun/nice to put it all together and make it happen. I like putting fish in the boat (and back into the Lake, many times) so if trolling does it, I troll. But when I can get a drift bite going, man is that fun. It takes me back to the early days (mid-80's and on) of the walleye boom on Erie. You feel the bite and give her a little line, wait a few seconds then, WHAM, put it to her. Sometimes the rod loads up and the battle is on. Other times you go "SHOOT, should have waited another second or 2!" And anyone that says walleyes don't fight hasn't caught a 5# fish in a 20mph wind on a 50 count using 10# line and a med/light power rod. They may not be smallies or steelies, but they aren't "logs" either. Go get 'em, Fellers! ErieBoy75 |

Posted - 07/12/2008 : 19:38:50 Mark, You guys fished an area that I fished friday and couldn't pull a fish. Tons of marks but no takers. Guess you got there at the right time and fed em the right baits today my friend. Congrats my friend and nice 8+ pounder. I told you you would be helping guys find there way before you knew it. Great Job today and thanks for all your help as well at the tourney. I was actually pulling for you to win this one bud. Too bad the Jesseman wasn't with you. He woulda loved it. Congrats!!!!!

Posted - 07/12/2008 : 19:23:15 Is nobody else slinging lead? I caught 5 walleyes up to 26" and 2 fish Ohio sheepshead this morning before 9am. I had to get in for some family time, but geez, was it a good bite! All on Erie Dearies.....Green & chart and all chart were the colors. That breeze out there today made it real easy to drift and cast. They're all still there for you fellers to catch.....CPR! ErieBoy75 |
