Dave and others,
If you were to list the best lures & colors to have in the box for the coming year, what would you say? Maybe list the 5 best spoon colors, 5 best crankbait colors and 5 best crawler harness colors.
Don't forget lures for casting, too. We did very good throwing Erie Dearies this year, too.
Thanks,
Erieboy75

Me and my son don't troll very much like most of the guys do but we are going to get into it a lot this coming year but for us we did very well this year using spinners, solid silver, gold, purple and green, double Colorado blades on a 24-36in leader with in line weights and drifting them or using a ele trolling motor for a slow drift.Tipped with a night crawler.Baitdave carries the spinners I use and most people use them for steel head but I have found them to out produce all the weight forward spinners and worm harness.

Spoons?= Chicken Wing, Kevorkian, Pink Panties, Red Huckleberry, Confusion.
My gosh every spoon had it's day last season!

Cranks? Pink Squirrel,(Start of the season), Eriedescent, Black head wonderbread,Oahe Red, Major tie for 5th,,quite a few blasted off. The deep diving husky jerks HJ12 in the glass series are really raising eyebrows.(Bare Naked reefrunner is the hot new bait) All off inline boards.

Harness'? The Weapon(Gold), Wally Pops,, most gold bladed harness did well.

Metallic rainbow patterns. Reef Runner has several patterns that fit this scheme, albeit with their unique monikers, and other manufacturers offer some sort of metallic (chrome) rainbow.

I can't wait to get my hands on the Bare Naked Reef Runner after seeing the success other had last week.

My best spoon for the '06 season, day in and day out, was happy Hooker, by far.

Second was easily Purple Demon. Orange Crush, Greasy Chicken Wing, and Hot Rod also had their days.

Fall bite cranking- Barbie Doll deep RR, by far. Followed by BlueBerry Muffin RR, Emerald Shiner Ripstick, and Eriedecsent Ripstick.

THanks Het,
I forgot "Happy Hooker","Purple Demon"
I could NOT pull a fish on a Barbie, she just didn't like me this year. Other guys crushed um on her!
Emereald shiner was great for us this fall after dark.

I love that emerald shiner after dark in the fall and the spring. Clown is another that works excellent after dark.

Our most successful days this past year came on the following:

Spoons: Tourney Winner, Lammie cakes, Redheaded Wonder bread, Pink Panties and Hot Rod.

Cranks: Chrome Erie Descent, Cheap Sunglasses, Moon Eye Minnow, Trailer Trash Pink and Purple Glass Deep HJ 12, and Deep diving Frensy Minnow in White/Green/Chartreuse. Most days anything with pink on it worked.

Mark,

If you do not have the 8th Edition Precision Trolling book, that would be a good place to start. It has hundreds of pictures of different crank baits in addition to the dive curves for each one listed.

A true must have for trolling.

You can buy the book through Mark Romanak and it will pay for a place at the clinic he will be putting on at DBT.I would highly recommend both of his books to be in your arsenal.

Don't worry dear once we get past this rough water it will flatten out.

Yes I have both books but I have not looked at them that much but I will now.It looks like we should be able to order a chart from reef runner.I have a big problem once I open and put away a bait,I forget its name.

Wait til you guys see the new bare naked bait. OMG is it awesome. It is sooooo reflective in bright light and against a black background it shines. Reef runner is onto something with this bait. I wouldn't have believed it but Scott, the inventor of reef runner, showed it to me in person this weekend at the Baumler show. I can't wait to get my hands on this bait and bunches of em. Scott told me they catch fish in dirty water as well. Tested in a PWT tourney this past weekend. DAVE WHEN ARE YOU GONNA GET THESE THINGS!!!!!!!! I want a bunch.
